The
Metropolis Project Team organized the Fifth National Metropolis
Conference in Ottawa last October
16 to 20, 2001. This was an important opportunity for
intensive discussions among researchers and policy officials,
representatives of the public and voluntary sectors. Important
policy concerns have wereidentified and research issues around
them explored in an effort to define key elements in the development
of Metropolis' pan-Canadian and international research agendas
in the years to come. The Conference has also provided researchers
with an opportunity to pursue collaborative research initiatives
and to showcase their work to a broad policy and practitioner
audience.
